RIP Joan Alexander Stanton, old time radio actress at age 94. She was best known as the actress who played Lois Lane opposite Bud Collyer in the radio "Adventures of Superman". Tom Bondurant has a lovely blog post on Clark Kent/Lois Lane and how they've changed in the comics. (I was amused to discover in another first, Clark married Lois first in the comic strips actually. She didn't know his identity and in something that would have annoyed current readers, Clark discovered he'd dreamed up the whole thing!

Newsarama has a rather fascinating and painful peek at the early depiction of Lois Lane and Superman. DC Comics entered the documents in the Siegel case to demonstrate Superman as a work-for-hire. Am I the only one who doesn't like Renato Guedes Lois at all? I like his Clark mostly, but she just looks so... mousy. And that's not how I picture Lois Lane at all. It's weird because I loved his Supergirl because she looked like a teenage girl. So I don't know why I have the polar opposite reaction to his Lois.
